With booksinprint.com you now have the option to save your search criteria and receive alerts via email when new items that meet your search criteria are added to the booksinprint.com database and/or released.  The Search Results page now features a “Save My Search” button.  When you click on this button you will be able to save your search results.  To get started:

w         Specify your search criteria as you normally would using Basic, Advanced or Boolean Search and click Search to view your results

w         Review search results to ensure you have entered all the proper search criteria  (Hint:  for best results be specific in your search criteria).  Click “Revise Search” if you wish to revise criteria and repeat.

w         When satisfied with your search criteria, click the “Save My Search” button at the top center of the Search Results Page.   

w         When you click the “Save My Search” button you will be asked to sign on to Bowker’s BIP Alert Service. You will be asked to provide your BIP Alert Service email address and password. This will give you, and only you, access to your saved searches.

w         If you do not already have a BIP Alert Service email address and password, click on the “Click here if you do not have a BIP Alert account” link on the Sign on to Bowker’s BIP Alert Service page. You will register by providing your name and email address. We will send you an email confirming your BIP Alert Service Email Address and Password.

w         You then may name your saved search.   

w         You will then have the option of having Bowker provide you with email updates when new items are released and/or added to the database.  Your email alert will contain the results of your saved search along with a link which will take you to your saved search(es).  You may decline this option, which will save your search for you and allow you to run the saved search when you wish.
